Howdy!
Happy Halloween, and if you're not too feeling too bad from your Halloween partying, come on out tomorrow at 4 and hit with us. We will be hitting around and talking about the Woodlands, which is coming up next weekend. Look for an e-mail soon containing more info about the Woodlands, and I hope to see you at the courts tomorrow. Thanks,

Ben

Hey guys, hope that all of you are haveing good weeks, this is just a reminder that there is tennis league as usual tomorrow (Wednesday) from 8 to 11. On another note, about 25 of our members were in Austin this weekend competing for spots at the National College Campus Championships tournament, a nation wide college club team tournament, to be held next spring break in San Diego. A&M's first team narrowly beat our second team in the semifinals, then handily defeated UT's first team in the finals to win the tournament. Our third team just missed out on making the semifinals by a couple of games (don't ask, the format is very wierd.) So congratulations to all who played, and next year we hope even more of you can go. Expect information on rankings within League and on how challenge matches will be set up to be on the website, tamu10s.blogspot.com, before Sunday's practice. Thanks, and see you tomorrow.

Hey guys,
Tonight, 8-11, tennis as usual at the courts. Remember, if you want to play the Woodlands tournament, this is YOUR LAST CHANCE TO GIVE US YOUR INFO. Today is the actual deadline for entry. Oh and yes, it is the same weekend as the OU game, which is quite unfortunate, so take that into consideration before you commit to going. Anyways, see ya'll tonight!

Hey tennis guys and gals,

Hope everyone’s week went well.  This is going to be a long message, but PLEASE read it all.  There’s lots of important stuff.

First and foremost, unfortunately there will NOT BE LEAGUE THIS SUNDAY!!!  The courts are being used by the women’s varsity, who is hosting a huge regional tournament.  Everyone should head out there to watch some good tennis.  It’s going from last Friday to this Tuesday.

Next, the entries to the Woodlands Open are due this week.  This is a tournament we go to every year, and EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE.  This has nothing to do with the rankings, any one and everyone is welcome.  The only real reservation to this statement is that you unfortunately must be 19 yrs old or older to participate and you must be a USTA member (you can pay for your membership at the tournament when you get there).  The tournament takes place November 5-7.  Tentatively, the league will pay for ONE ENTRY FEE and the hotel.  You are allowed to play two events (out of singles, doubles, or mixed).  For the entry form and more information, go HERE.  The tournament is an NTRP adult tournament (3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, etc.).  Most of you know what this is but if you need more details, feel free to contact me or any of the other officers for a better explanation.  There won’t be any “official” transportation, but if you don’t have a means to get there or wish to carpool, contact us and I’m sure we’ll be able to get you there.

The deadline for entry is Wednesday the 20thof October.  We’re trying to get an extension on that, but don’t count on it.  I know that’s very soon, so here’s what we’re going to do to get entries in:

1)     If you are participating in two events, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR SUBMITTING THE FORM AND PAYING FOR YOUR SECOND ENTRY.  We’ll cover the first.  If you are doing a 2nd event, you may submit the FORM via mail or online HERE.  Mail entries must be in the mail by Monday.  Internet entries must be submitted by Wednesday night at midnight.

2)     For your 1 entry that the league will pay for, you may reply to this email with “ENTRY” as the subject line.  You must include all information on the form (again, HERE).  You may also fill out the form on Wednesday night at league.  However, SPECIAL NOTE:  If you DO NOT HAVE A USTA NUMBER, you must give us your entry information by early Monday morning.

I really hope a bunch of you all play this Woodlands tournament.  We have always had a huge presence at this tournament in the past, and it’s a ton of fun for everyone.  Not to mention, its one of the few events that EVERYONE can participate in.  Please do not wait til the last minute on this thing, reply as soon as possible.  Also, be sure you can participate.  The last thing any of us want it to waste the league’s money cause some chump thinks (s)he can go but didn’t think about it.  That said, it will be a lot of fun.  Please get back to us with any and all questions.  Thanks, and have a great week.

Hey guys,
Hope everyone's week is going well. It's Wednesday, so everyone knows what that means. Yep, another fun filled night of tennis, tonight 8-11 as usual.

Down to business though, if you've been participating in the ranking system, please check your schedule for Saturday the 23rd of October and Sunday the 24th. We've got the big regional in Austin that weekend and we're going to be sending three teams, which means 10-12 lucky guys and 10-12 lucky girls will be headed there that weekend. This event will take up your entire Saturday and quite possibly all day Sunday. Be prepared to stay the entire time if you wish to participate. Please come prepared tonight to let me know for sure one way or the other whether or not you can go. The final team rosters will be announced this weekend.

Lastly, if you have not payed your dues yet, you will find yourself removed from this email list very shortly. That's all I've got for now, have a great rest of the week.

Howdy,
We were rained out on Wednesday, but the weather looks like it will be perfect for tennis tomorrow, so come on out at 4. We will be playing matches to determine rankings for regionals, which are coming up the weekend of October 23. Also, start thinking about whether or not you can play in the Woodlands tournament (weekend of Nov. 5,) because entries are due in about 2 weeks. Everyone is welcome to play in the Woodlands tournament, but you do need to be a USTA member, and I believe you need to be 19 years old. Tennis League will pay for at least the hotel, and last year a lot of people went and everyone had lots of fun. Thanks,

Ben

Howdy,
I hope all of you read this letter before 8 pm tonight, because there will be no League today. The Rec closed the courts due to rain. Sorry, but we hope to see you all Sunday.

Ben

Howdy,
We got 2 good hours of tennis in on Sunday before the rain, and it looks like more rain tonight, but go ahead and come on out at 8. We'll be playing matches and hitting around, so I hope to see you all there. Thanks,

Ben

Hey guys,
I was thinking of participating in Replant on October, 16th. I thought it would be fun if some of the tennis league wanted to join me. It is a day of volunteering... planting trees either around Bryan/College Station or on the Riverside campus. It is a fun service project that brings Aggies together and also improves the environment. If you're interested, I need to know ASAP. The registration sheet is due this Friday. I need to know exact names and an exact count by then. I have all the paperwork, so if you want to join me, call me at 805-216-3844, or email me at amberyokoi@tamu.edu. You can also tell me Wednesday at league!

Have a good week,
Amber :)

Howdy,
I hope everyone is haveing a good weekend, and that all of you can make it out today at 4. If you haven't paid, there is still time, but soon you will stop getting e-mails from the League. Also, if you are getting two copies of each letter, reply with "Double" in the subject and we'll fix that. Thanks, and see you at 4!

Ben
